Job Responsibilities:

As a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Senior Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for leading and supporting all quality aspects impacting, sustaining and improving the plant performance.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Analyse quality data to identify root causes of issues, opportunities for improvement and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  2. Monitor quality performance through SPC and Cpk analysis.
  3. Ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
  4. Lead/involvement in analysis and problem-solving activities (8D, 6-Sigma, etc.)
  5. Lead Process audit and support LPA, 5S and system audit.
  6. Support creation and submission of PPAP, Process flow, Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA, Capability studies.
  7. Lead/involvement in continuous improvement activities for plant (quality, lean, scrap, etc.)
  8. Validating processes change and ensure documentation is up to date.
  9. Support quality management and site management objectives and tasks.
  10. Support quality management and site management reporting requirements.
  11. Contribute towards the development and delivery of department and individual objectives to maintain/improve department and business performance.
  12. Support site development and sustainment of QMS in line with standards and customer specific requirements.
  13. Provide regular feedback through various mechanisms (daily, weekly and monthly reviews)

Who we are looking for:

Essential

  1. Previous experience of leading and coaching teams
  2. Excellent organization skills and management of priorities
  3. Understanding of 7W / lean improvement
  4. Experienced in problem solving leadership with strong analytical skills
  5. Understanding of build standard creation (PFMEA, control plan, working level documents) and implementation / improvement of quality control systems
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of internal and external customers.
  7. Understanding of measurement methods / methodology
  8. PC literacy, including a working knowledge of reporting software, e.g. Microsoft Office
  9. Resilient, self-driven and positive approach
  10. Prepared to work within remit and across functions/levels as required
  11. Systematic and logical approach
  12. Flexibility

Desirable

  1. Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  2. Experience of working within the automotive sector
  3. 6-Sigma trained or trained in other problem solving methodologies (quality tools required)
  4. QMS and quality systems / auditing experience
  5. Experienced in IATF:16949 and core tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and PPAP)
  6. Knowledge of Minitab
