Job description

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

Job Type: Full-time, Site-based

Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £40K

Reports To: General Manager

About the Role

Hawk3 Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients who specialise in the design, manufacture, and delivery of innovative solutions across various industries, including industrial embedded computing, custom lithium battery packs, secure communication systems, antennas, and imaging technology. Security Clearance: This role is subject to security clearance. Eligibility may be influenced by nationality, previous nationalities, and place of birth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implementing and managing inspection and certification control plans
  2. Supporting contract reviews with the Project Management team
  3. Leading APQP requirements such as PPAP and FAIRs
  4. Conducting visual and dimensional inspections for process production part approval
  5. Supporting final inspections of completed components or assemblies, including sign-off
  6. Providing manufacturing support to production areas for quality-related issues
  7. Updating or implementing procedures as needed
  8. Evaluating measurement systems
  9. Actively supporting the business with its QMS and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation
  10. Performing internal audits of processes and maintaining audit schedules
  11. Managing non-conformance issues and reporting performance metrics
  12. Accomplishing regular product sample and process audits on the shop floor

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Educated to Diploma or Degree level (or equivalent), ideally in an engineering environment
  2. Strong experience working with defence standards
  3. In-depth knowledge of technical documentation, including engineering drawings
  4. Experience in electronics-based product manufacturing, with familiarity in electronic/electrical components and cabling
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills
  6. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Desirable

  1. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and QMS practices
  2. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
