Qualifications

Job description

A fantastic role has come up with my Gloucester-based client, a global engineering business, they are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their skilled team. The successful candidate for the Quality Engineer role will Monitor, assess and report on quality of product and processes, ensuring manufacturing processes are performed correctly and in line with required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities – Quality Engineer

  1. Improvement of compliance and quality of products/services.
  2. Monitor, test and report on quality of product and processes, ensuring manufacturing processes are performed correctly and identifying non-conformances and improvement opportunities.
  3. Review, improvement, design and implementation of standard operating procedures and processes to ensure that products meet required specification and customer expectations.
  4. Carry out root cause analysis, problem solving and implement correction and corrective actions.
  5. Initiate, recommend and deliver solutions to improvement opportunities.
  6. Support deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies within the Business Unit.
  7. Drive NCR’s close out in a timely manner with stakeholders across the business.
  8. Drive Zero Non-conformance and Right First Time Culture using recognized techniques.
  9. Conduct Internal / External Quality & Compliance audits.
  10. Improve Customer satisfaction and progressive improvement of Business Unit KPI’s.
  11. Provide Quality data / reports in a timely manner.
  12. Maintain relevant quality documentation.
  13. Raise corrective action requests and manage timely close out with relevant parties.

Qualifications & Requirements – Quality Engineer

  1. Minimum HNC Qualified (Quality or Manufacturing Engineering).
  2. Minimum Quality Management Diploma.
  3. Trained in Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  4. Minimum Trained Internal Auditor.
  5. In depth knowledge of ISO 9001.

Experience:

  1. Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  2. Ability to understand and interpret customer specifications.
  3. Able to identify and resolve problems using a structured and data driven approach.
  4. Training/Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
  5. Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  6. Application of measurement, analysis or continuous improvement tools.
  7. Root Cause and Corrective Action practitioner using recognized techniques.
  8. PC literate - capable user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
  9. Minimum one-year related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
