Quality Engineer

Permanent Position

£30,000 - £35,000 DOE

37.5 hour week - early finish on Fridays

Free onsite parking, 33 days Flexible Holiday Entitlement

We are currently working with an established sub-contract sheet metalworking business based in Cannock. Due to a retirement, they are now looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Quality Engineer's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

1. Maintaining Quality manuals, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
2. Manage and develop QHSE policies, procedures and programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
3. Conduct supplier audits.
4. Review all quality debit notes in a timely fashion.
5. Undertaking a hands-on inspection role to ensure components are produced to the customer specification.
6. Support APQP and PPAP activities.

The ideal candidate for the Quality Engineer will have:

1. Ideally held a similar role.
2. Come from a solid engineering background.
3. Ideally have an Engineering qualification (HNC or HND or higher).
4. A good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
5. Good customer facing skills.
6. The ability to read engineering drawings in various formats.
7. Experience of working in a hands-on inspection role and be competent using all relevant equipment.

We would consider someone who has completed an Engineering Apprenticeship - the fit into the existing team is an important factor, as is the need for someone who is looking to have a long-term career, with progression over time to Quality Manager position.
