Quality Engineer

Job Overview: Retained by our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer we are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

1. As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our injection moulding processes, products and procedures.

Role:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems for injection moulding processes to ensure product consistency and conformance to specifications.
2. Perform regular quality audits, inspections, and testing throughout the manufacturing process to identify non-conformance, root causes, and corrective actions.
3. Maintain accurate quality records, inspections, and test results. Generate regular reports for internal stakeholders and customers, outlining quality metrics and process performance.
4. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO9001) and customer-specific requirements.
5. Review and update quality control procedures in line with these standards.
6. Provide training and support to production teams on quality standards, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
7. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
8. Work with customers to address quality concerns, investigate product complaints, and implement corrective actions.

Experience Requirements:

1. Prior experience in quality engineering role, preferably within the injection moulding or the manufacturing industry.
2. Strong experience in quality control processes, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
3. Proficient in the use of quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, and MSA.
4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
5. Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards - ISO9001.
6. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
7. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
8. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
11. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
