Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality materials and components for the aerospace sector, is seeking an experienced Quality Manager ready to step into a Directorship role. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS) AS9120 and play a key role in shaping the company's quality strategy at the highest level.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring close collaboration with clients, suppliers, and operational teams to ensure all products meet the highest aerospace standards. The position oversees quality operations across two sites-one in Dudley, where the successful candidate will be based, and another in Europe. While there is no requirement to travel, the role includes managing four senior-level direct reports across both locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance the company's QMS, ensuring compliance with AS9100, AS9120, and ISO 9001.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring effective compliance and inspection processes across multiple sites.
• Manage all quality assurance functions, from incoming stock inspection to final distribution.
• Work closely with production teams, suppliers, and customers to drive quality improvements and resolve issues.
• Conduct audits, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce NCRs and customer complaints.
• Act as the key contact for customers on quality-related issues, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring customer expectations are met.
• Stay ahead of aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the business remains fully compliant.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Proven track record in quality management within aerospace manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of AS9100, AS9120, ISO 9001, and related industry standards.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to quality improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
