Role: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Sheffield
Hourly Rate: £12.00 to £15.50 p/h + performance bonus
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm (weekend overtime available)

Adept Resourcing Group is excited to be working alongside a Sheffield based precision engineering company in their search for a Quality Control Inspector to join their fast-paced team. Due to a strong 2025 orderbook the opportunity has arisen for an experienced and attentive Quality Control Inspector to join a growing team.

The right Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the quality manager and production manager to ensure all precision machine products maintain the highest standard of quality the company can offer. This role is based in Sheffield with the right Quality Control Inspector working Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm. Overtime is available with shift premium.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Quality Control Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the inspection department.
• Ensure quality control systems are maintained and followed.
• Carry out first/last off inspections against engineering drawings and 3D models on production batches, New-Products & Prototypes.
• Carry out final dimensional inspections against engineering drawings and complete applicable reports, including CTQs (Critical-to-quality dimensions) & FAI (First-article-inspection).
• Carry out Visual & Function checks as required on piece-parts and assemblies.
• Carry out sample inspection and spot-checks on production work as required.
• Carry out training with all SPM staff on inspection equipment.
• Support the inspection department to ensure the calibration system is maintained.
• Support the inspection department to ensure inspection machines & equipment are serviced and maintained.
• Work with production operatives to achieve product conformity.
• Work with the Production team to achieve customer due dates.
• Create and complete customer-specific inspection reports using IPI inspection computer software and the company MRP system.
• Act as a customer-facing inspector as required.
• Create reports for the quality manager as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Understanding of engineering drawings.
• Previous experience of using CMM.
• Previous experience and knowledge of handheld inspection equipment & shadowgraph.
• Experience of using gauging.
• Computer literate.
• Previous experience working with geometric tolerance, OGP and Vicci Vision equipment is desirable but not essential.
