As the Quality and Compliance Manager, you will be key to maintaining and improving quality and compliance functions, particularly information governance, health and safety, and regulatory compliance (CQC). You will provide leadership, oversight, training and support to non-clinical colleagues. You will also support the clinical and practice leaders with clinical governance, safeguarding, infection control.
The role will be based at our facilities in Gloucester, which could be purely office-based or hybrid office-based/working from home, if preferred. If hybrid working, you must be willing and able to travel to our sites in Gloucester whenever required during your contracted hours. You must be able to travel independently to Gloucester and to other sites in Gloucestershire.
The role is for 16-20 hours per week, to be worked over at least 4 days. For candidates seeking more hours, we may be able to combine the role with other duties, depending on your skills and experience.
Salary will be equivalent to NHS Band 4-5, depending on skills and experience. The role is eligible for the NHS pension scheme. Paid annual leave of 25 days per annum plus 8 days of bank holidays (pro-rata if part-time).

Main duties of the role
You will work closely with our senior leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance patient safety and experience. You will have considerable autonomy to design and implement quality systems, although close and co-operative working with colleagues will be essential. You must be able to make the case for quality improvement and to bring colleagues with you.
Experience of both clinical and information governance is desirable, but candidates with a strong record of achievement and leadership in only one of these elements are welcome to apply, as training can be provided if required.
We are a small organisation: flexibility of approach and a willingness to support the team as a whole are essential.
Lead and support our team to achieve clinical excellence, patient safety and regulatory assurance.
Establish a quality and governance framework (drawing on existing policies and procedures). Identify and address any gaps.
Ensure that G DOC complies with regulatory requirements, including CQC and the ICO.
Identify regulatory requirements, NHS standards, and G DOC policy requirements. Lead the implementation and communication of these across the organisation.
Establish and maintain reporting and audit to ensure compliance.

About Us
G DOC LTD is owned by all the GP Practices in Gloucestershire; the Practices are our shareholders. We operate on a not-for-profit basis: any profits are redistributed into primary care in Gloucestershire. We are a limited company run by a Board of Directors, most of whom are experienced local GPs. We run a number of GP practices, as well as some other services for the whole county.
Our Countywide Services Include:
G DOC is running a Covid Medicines Service to help and support the high-risk patients in Gloucestershire. Over 17,000 primary care appointments each year at Gloucester Health Access Centre for patients who may need to be seen the same day when their own practice is already full, or who do not have a registered GP. GHAC is open 8am-8pm, 365 days a year.

Duties specific to role
Provide leadership and support on quality and compliance. Lead reporting on Safety Events and implementation of learning. Produce quality and assurance reports for the Management Board. Attend the Board to present these when required. Ensure robust clinical governance systems are in place. Ensure prompt and compliant responses to requests for data from patients, and from third parties where legitimate. Enhance patient satisfaction and experience through quality improvement. Ensure training is in place to support quality assurance, risk management, and patient safety. Assist the Operations team in effective risk management. Act as Deputy Caldicott Guardian, ensuring safe and appropriate data sharing. Conduct clinical governance reviews and audit, ensuring compliance with NICE guidelines. Operate independently within agreed frameworks, escalating risks as necessary. Ensure cost-effective service delivery and budget alignment with quality priorities. Ensure services meet CQC, NICE, ICO and contractual clinical requirements. Ensure requirements of the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit are met.
Working conditions
