Job DescriptionQuality CMM Inspector (2nd Shift)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM (Overtime available on Fridays)
Pay Range: $25 per hour
Role and Responsibilities:
Perform complete layout inspections by measuring dimensions (length, height, distance between reference points) using precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and vision systems.
Locate and measure dimensions such as angles, arcs, and radii using gauge blocks, parallel bars, angle plates, and V-blocks.
Conduct verification inspections on incoming, in-process, and outgoing products to ensure quality compliance.
Perform visual inspections to compare workpieces and detect manufacturing variations.
Assist and/or train operators on part acceptability, measurement procedures, and quality standards.
Document Non-Conforming Materials (NCMs) in the electronic quality system.
Maintain accurate inspection records for compliance and traceability.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma or Technical School equivalent (Some college coursework is a plus).
Experience using Microsoft Office products.
ASQ Certification is a plus.
Strong ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Basic understanding of math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be a team player with strong attention to detail.
Flexible availability based on production schedules.
Minimum 1 year of experience using computers and precision measuring instruments.
Skills:
Experience measuring parts on a CMM or vision system (Hexagon CMM experience is a plus).
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
Experience with precision machined parts and contract assembly.
