The Role at a Glance

Are you passionate about food safety and quality? Ready to play a crucial role in ensuring that every product that leaves the factory meets the highest standards? As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you'll be on the front-line of maintaining product integrity, supporting factory teams, and driving continuous improvement through audits, investigations, and hands-on quality control.

This role isn't just about ticking boxes-it's about making a real difference in the day-to-day operations of a thriving food production business. You'll be the go-to quality expert, problem-solver, and standards champion.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Be the eyes and ears of the factory floor, conducting regular audits across GMP, traceability, hygiene, documentation, product quality, and more.
  2. Drive root cause investigations into food safety, legality, or quality issues, and lead the way on effective resolutions.
  3. Be the first point of contact for all things QA-supporting operations with day-to-day decisions, advice, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  4. Manage and support systems like Olympus Auto Verification, Metal Detection, and Check Weighers-ensuring everything is ready to go before production runs.
  5. Take the lead on managing non-conformances, concessions, quarantines, and hold items, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
  6. Validate new and existing processes in line with HACCP plans and support seamless product launches.
  7. Dive into data-trend customer complaints, investigate issues like OOS results or foreign bodies, and help reduce recurrence through smart analysis and action.
  8. Champion complaint reduction plans and play a central role in keeping our quality high and our customers happy.
  9. Be a key player during traceability and third-party audits-your knowledge and attention to detail will shine.
  10. Collaborate across departments and shifts to ensure consistency, clarity, and a culture of quality excellence.

Key Metrics You'll Influence

  • QA Audit Completion Rate - Keeping to schedule and leaving no gaps.
  • Audit Compliance Score - Minimising non-conformances and impressing customers and third parties.
  • System Set-Up Accuracy - Right first time on all equipment checks.
  • Investigation Closure Rate - Fast, thorough responses to every issue.
  • Quarantine Management - Nothing left unresolved.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 2+ years in a food industry QA, technical, or production role.
  • Strong English communication (written and spoken).
  • Food Safety qualification (Level 2 or higher).
  • Internal auditing experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working in a high-care food environment.
  • Foundation or higher in HACCP.
  • Formal training in internal auditing.
  • Higher education in Food Safety, Food Science, or a related field.

What Makes You a Great Fit

You're someone who embodies Teamwork, Quality, Honesty, and Passion-their core values. You lead by example, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo when it comes to doing things better.

The business is a behaviour-driven business, so how you do things matters just as much as what you do. Their framework highlights collaboration, adaptability, and accountability-traits you'll demonstrate every day.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a QA role. It's a chance to be part of a dynamic team in a business that's all about growth, integrity, and making a real impact. You'll have the support to learn, grow, and lead within a company that values your voice and your vision.
