QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER BEDFORDSHIRE

SALARY: Competitive Salary (Depending on experience) + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Employee Referral scheme + Life Insurance + Company Sick Pay (After qualifying period)

Our client has been established for over 30 years and is a leader in the flexible packaging and film industry! The company has consistently provided long-term, secure employment opportunities. They hold BRC certification and are an approved food packaging supplier to leading manufacturers in the UK and internationally.

They are currently looking for an experienced Quality and Compliance Manager to join their Operational Excellence and Compliance Department. The chosen candidate will lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality employees to support the site, ensuring that products and processes comply with specifications, HACCP principles, and BRC/ISO and Customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and maintain the Quality Management System - Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), spreadsheets, Technical/Quality Agreements
  • Coordinate and lead BRC unannounced audit preparation and act as Leader
  • Senior member and coordinator of the HACCP systems for the site
  • Lead site quality audits and visits
  • Coordinate and carry out internal audits (systems and GMP) with robust corrective action close outs
  • Continual assessment & improvement of the Manufacturing Site Standards
  • Manage the concession and non-conformance systems with appropriate corrective actions, on site and with suppliers
  • Manage and coordinate customer complaints investigations and corrective action close outs
  • Manage and coordinate pest control site visits and corrective action close outs
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and service providers
  • Support the development team during the concept to launch process to ensure all new products, once launched, comply with all current systems
  • Manage returns and rework

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and coordinating Quality, within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Implementation and management of Quality - ISO 9001; ISO 45001; and BRCGS is essential/desirable
  • HACCP Level 3 is essential
  • Lead and Internal Auditor qualification or experience is desirable
  • Strong individual with an analytical approach with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and can work under pressure
  • A can-do attitude, able to overcome obstacles with a team approach
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others using appropriate leadership styles
  • Organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate with people at all levels and to motivate others
  • Written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others clearly
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient with all Microsoft Office Packages, ERP and Quality software systems
