About The Role

We are currently seeking a Trade Qualified Marine Mechanic or Med 1 / Med 2 with workshop experience to join our team in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our Marine Fleet and infrastructure facilities. This is a key role within the organisation and requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling, and time management skills.

Primarily working out of Cleveland and / or Russell Island, this exciting full-time position requires a person who is energetic, motivated, enthusiastic and has the flexibility to meet operational demands.

You will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance on vessels across the fleet and other company assets, including regular inspections and maintenance of plant and machinery. You will ensure the upkeep of vessels meets compliance, environmental standards and Work Health and Safety obligations.

About You

  • Familiarity with mechanical plant, particularly marine diesel engines, marine vessels, and components.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to the delivery of quality work.
  • Marine field hands-on experience.
  • Solid mechanical background with Marine engine experience.
  • Ability to have the flexibility to work with a roster including an on-call rotating schedule.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Qualified Diesel Fitter / Marine Mechanic or MED 1 or 2 with onshore workshop experience.
  • C Class driver's license.
  • Recreational boat license.
  • Possession of valid Radio Operators License - Preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certificate - Preferred.
  • Confined space and gas test atmosphere training - desirable.
  • Working at heights training - desirable.
