Are you a qualified Freight Train Driver looking for a change of pace?

GB Railfreight is a growing and successful business and expansion is key to our success, both geographically and by increasing the diversity of traffic we operate. Our Train Drivers earn a salary of £68,028 for a 34.5 hour week over 4 days, leaving plenty of opportunity for overtime.

Responsibilities

As a Train Manager, you will work professionally in supporting GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable, and best-in-class service to our customers. In this role, you will liaise with Rail Operators, Signallers, and Contractors to ensure customer requirements are met and trains arrive on time.

Qualifications

A flexible attitude to working hours is required due to this being a shift-based role working a nominal 34.5 hour week. The shifts vary and need to cover work 24/7, particularly on nights, which is traditionally the domain of freight.

  • Freight Train Driving Experience is essential to apply for this role.
  • Candidates must have a satisfactory safety record and hold a valid UK driving licence.
  • Extensive route and traction knowledge within the location and surrounding area is desirable.
  • Proficiency with IT packages such as Word, Outlook, and ability to download applications on iPads.
  • Safety-conscious and calm attitude in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Excellent concentration and observational skills.
  • Clear and professional communication skills to relay important safety messages.
  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Train managers must reside within 45 minutes of their place of work.
  • Applicants must possess a UK/EU Train Driver Licence.
