Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for a Qualified Assessor.

  1. Location: Home based with national travel as required
  2. Salary: £26000 - £32000 per hour
  3. Hours: 40 hours per week
  4. Contract: Permanent

The role:

They are currently seeking a Qualified Assessor to work within their internal Learning & Development team, supporting the delivery of nationally accredited qualifications.


Experience:

The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:

  1. Delivering a range of learning solutions including workshops that cover both internal and external outcomes
  2. Examining and assessing candidates' portfolios of evidence
  3. Providing feedback and offering advice and support if the standards are not met
  4. Signing off external qualifications when all the requirements have been met
  5. Keeping records of candidates' progress in line with local and National Policies and Legislation
  6. Attending standardisation meetings with other assessors/managers to lead standardisation on programmes you are specialising within
  7. Managing relationships with Key Stakeholders
  8. Delivering workshops either face to face or remotely (Nationally)
  9. Recording and reporting on learners' progress and liaising with Line Manager regularly

Duties will vary; you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever required.


Skills & Qualifications:

The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:

  1. Must have experience and base qualification in our key sectors Education and/or Care
  2. Assessor qualification A1/TAQA (or equivalent) or willing to work towards
  3. IQA qualification (or equivalent) or willing to work towards
  4. Teaching Qualification PTTLS or equivalent or willing to work towards
  5. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  6. Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C to include English and Maths) or equivalent
  7. Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Outlook with the ability and willingness to learn to use a range of IT systems
  8. Organised with good time management
  9. Able to prioritise workload
  10. High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication
  11. Able to work as part of a team and individually as some work will be lone working
  12. Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals with good interpersonal skills
  13. Confidential and reliable
