QC Scientist

We have served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a QC Scientist to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.

Role Overview:

The QC Scientist reports into a QC Team Leader and performs incoming, in-process and final quality control testing across the BBI product range. The QC Scientist will ensure that all QC tests/activities under job description are carried out on time and in line with set specifications, customer requirements, global/site procedures, industry standards and regulations as required.

Role Requirements

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Carry out incoming, in-process and final testing to support manufacturing and R&D activities using calibrated equipment and in accordance with QC Procedures.
2. Ensure all documentation is completed with a “right first time” attitude and following ALCOA principles.
3. Raise any out of specification, out of trend results and any quality issues to your line manager in a timely manner.
4. Record and investigate out of specification and out of trend results.
5. Manage stability trials and perform testing at scheduled intervals, generate stability reports and maintain stability spreadsheets.
6. Manage QC inventory.
7. Carry out quality monitoring events for the wider company.
8. Initiate and complete required changes to QC documentation in accordance with change control procedures.
9. Support new product development and product redevelopment.
10. Act as key customer contact for specific products and represent QC.
11. Participate in quality improvement opportunities within QC and support initiatives undertaken by other departments.
12. Support the QC Team Leaders with continuous improvement projects.
13. Maintain and improve laboratory 5S.
14. Support quality monitoring and trending of the Purified Water System.
15. Ensure all customer communications are managed promptly and professionally.
16. Ensure all activities comply with Health and Safety legislation and BBI policies.
