Job description

QA TECHNICIAN NEEDED IN MARKET DRAYTON, SHROPSHIRE

An experienced QA Technician is required for a well-established food manufacturing business in Market Drayton, Shropshire. The hiring manager is looking for someone who has previous experience from within the food manufacturing industry and preferably someone who holds a HACCP Level 3 and Food Hygiene Level 2.

The salary for this job is paying up to £29,000 per annum, working a day shift pattern Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times (39 hours per week).

We are looking for someone who has previous auditing experience and can confidently complete supporting paperwork once the quality checks have been conducted.

Previous candidates who have experience working as a Quality Assurance Assistant, QA Advisor, Quality Assurance Advisor, QA Controller, QA Coordinator, or Quality Controller within the food manufacturing industry would be well received.

What You Will Do

  1. Conduct thorough quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  2. Perform a variety of audits, including GMP, Plastic and Glass, and process audits, to maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  3. Take responsibility for lab sampling, including taking samples, swabs, and sending them for analyses.
  4. Oversee traceability, ensuring that all processes from weighing and mixing to packaging comply with food safety controls.
  5. Identify training needs and organise interventions to maintain a high level of competency across the team.
  6. Manage non-conforming items, ensuring that any product quality issues are promptly resolved and adequately documented.
What You Will Bring

  1. Proven experience in a technical food production or bakery environment.
  2. A HACCP qualification, ideally level 3, and a Food Hygiene qualification.
  3. Experience in audit training, with a certification being highly advantageous.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent organisational abilities.
  5. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
