Job description

AA Euro Group are currently working with a leading M&E contractor who are actively looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join their team for the fit-out of a new pharmaceutical facility in Oxford. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all mechanical and electrical (M&E) works meet stringent quality standards and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical environments. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile project in a cutting-edge sector.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance (QA):
    1. Develop and implement the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for the project, ensuring that all work complies with relevant industry standards, pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., cGMP), and client requirements.
    2. Manage QA documentation, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality procedures.
    3. Liaise with client representatives, regulatory bodies, and project teams to ensure quality expectations are understood and met.
  2. Quality Control (QC):
    1. Oversee the QC process for M&E installations, including reviewing specifications, conducting site inspections, and ensuring materials and installations meet defined standards.
    2. Conduct inspections and audits of installations, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical facility requirements, including cleanliness, safety, and contamination control.
    3. Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring timely corrective action and resolution.
  3. Documentation & Reporting:
    1. Ensure all testing, commissioning, and validation activities are documented and in line with project and regulatory requirements.
    2. Prepare and maintain QC records, progress reports, and final handover documentation.
    3. Support the handover process to ensure all QA/QC documentation is complete and signed off by the relevant stakeholders.
  4. Team Collaboration:
    1. Work closely with the project management, design, and construction teams to ensure QA/QC requirements are fully integrated into project planning and execution.
    2. Provide QA/QC training to site personnel as required, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC roles, ideally within the M&E sector and with experience in pharmaceutical fit-outs.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., cGMP, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements specific to pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Experience with M&E installations, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in QA/QC software tools and MS Office suite.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in cleanroom environments or highly regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or healthcare.
  • Certification in Quality Management Systems (QMS) or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) for QA purposes.
