Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be exclusively partnering with Venator, based in Wynyard, on the appointment of a Purchasing Operations Buyer to join their team on a full time and temporary basis, initially until 31st December 2025. Venator are a leading global chemical company, with headquarters in Wynyard, Billingham, dedicated to the development and manufacture of titanium dioxide pigments and performance additives.

This is a transactional purchasing role supporting multiple sites and managing spend up to the value of $10,000. Spend can vary across services, goods, packaging and logistics.

The Role:

1. Create and manage purchase orders, covering the procure-to-pay process from validated demand, typically an approved Purchase Requisition, through to invoice approval.
2. Validating the vendor/new vendor creation.
3. Creating purchase orders.
4. Obtaining order confirmations from vendors.
5. Resolving any purchasing invoice queries including vendor master data and price mismatches.
6. Running SAP Requests for Quotation.
7. Selecting vendors.
8. Negotiating price and payment terms.
9. Execute site specific purchasing projects as required.

The Person / Specification:

1. Experience in a purchasing/procurement related role would be advantageous but not essential.
2. SAP systems experience is essential for this role.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Capable of resolving problems.
5. Good attention to detail.
6. Able to start work with immediate effect.
