Purchasing Manager

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently looking to hire a Purchasing Manager to join the team, with a focus on developing and implementing procurement strategies that ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for products and materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to drive cost savings.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure continuous supply.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Monitor market trends and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, ensuring cost management for raw materials, packaging, and third-party manufactured goods.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Significant experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, ideally within a pharmaceutical or other regulated industry.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred).
• Understanding of procurement s role within a GxP-regulated environment.
• Ability to identify and mitigate risks in procurement and supply chain disruptions.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Highly organised and self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, capable of building relationships across the organisation.
