i2r Packaging Solutions manufacture a comprehensive range of aluminium foil wrinklewall and smoothwall containers used throughout the food industry.

As a global leader in our field, we supply superior, lightweight, robust aluminium foil packaging for food for many leading retail brands as well as foil containers for wholesaler and distributor markets worldwide.

The Role

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of procurement & purchasing of all goods, materials, and services. Ensuring that the company’s operational needs are met, in line with I2R sustainable procurement guidelines, considering price, quality, and delivery, ensuring continuity of supply.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement & purchasing of all production & non-production materials and services.
  • Manage customer contracted & non-contracted metal demand & purchase contracts, with all group & non-group suppliers.
  • Manage stocks of all purchased goods in line with company objectives and report accordingly.
  • Manage all group & non-group metal scrap contracts.
  • Demand analysis, purchase order generation, and expedition.
  • Supplier liaison and management, maintaining clear and timely lines of communication & supply.
  • Assess & manage all supply in line with I2R sustainable procurement guidelines.
  • Manage all supplier contract negotiation & approval, maintain all documentation & proactively assess renewal requirements.
  • Manage tender processes by gathering data, collating quotations, and arranging sample trials where applicable.
  • Manage supplier database, qualification & new supplier set up via I2R Supplier Portal (Ariba).
  • Lead development and implement processes to evaluate and report on supplier performance.
  • Create, review, manage, maintain & follow purchasing processes and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain purchasing databases and files including contracts, pricing, orders, etc., and provide reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively seek demand outlets for all slow-moving, purchased materials.
  • Support SAP purchasing implementation.
  • Drive cost savings and regular benchmarking exercises to ensure best prices obtained.
  • Manage and support direct reports.
  • Assign, manage, and maintain departmental responsibilities to direct reports, ensuring effective training and development of the team.

About You

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience in Purchasing, Procurement & Supply Chain, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Applications.

Desired Experience

  • Fast-paced manufacturing / FMCG environment.
  • Supplier Portals.
  • SAP.
  • System Migration.
  • CIPS Qualified or working towards.
