Ingenia is a leading manufacturer and supplier of plastic cards to the Access control and Identification sectors and is a wholesaler of card printing systems, lanyards, and ID accessories, www.ingenia.co.uk.

Job Description

Key attributes are as follows:

Experience of at least 4-5 years executing the purchasing operations of a £20m revenue business is highly desirable. The candidate should be able to implement and develop innovative and excellent relations with suppliers to ensure products are purchased at the necessary competitive price level. A positive can-do attitude and work ethic is required, along with reliability and diligence focused on producing timely accurate reporting. A good culture and team fit for the business with the attributes hungry, humble, and smart is essential.

The role:

Duties will include:

  • Take responsibility for day-to-day procurement and raising of orders.
  • Manage and develop existing systems to ensure stock availability whilst meeting stock days targets using Sage 200 ERP.
  • Assist in sourcing custom printed and stock products at the best value for the company, to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Innovate around the best way to buy from suppliers, twinning orders together or meeting certain volume requirements to gain the most competitive prices.
  • Assist in the procurement of raw material stocks.
  • Assist in the development of stock control systems, working with logistics.
  • Drive a decrease in stock turn days by stocking as efficiently as possible.
  • Forecast supply and demand, taking a strategic approach to supplier selection.
  • Assist in developing new suppliers in European countries, with an emphasis on reducing dependency on far eastern suppliers.
  • Develop products with suppliers, with particular emphasis on eco sustainability.
  • Assist supplier research and ensure compliance.
  • Supplier Quality Management – Ensure NCR's are opened for internal and external non-conformance, take responsibility for bringing these NCR's to satisfactory results ensuring supplier improvement or deselection.
  • Assist Finance departments to manage purchasing in line with cash flow forecasting.
  • Assist Logistics and Production departments to ensure a consistent quality of dispatched product.
  • Obtain price estimates for customised orders from suppliers.
  • Develop new suppliers for existing products.
  • Assist in monitoring of spend and existing purchase processes, striving to find cost reductions.
  • Negotiate terms, discounts, and rebates with suppliers.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Purchasing: 5 years (preferred)
