Job description

Escape are working with an organisation based in Perth, who is looking to appoint a Purchasing & Commercial Lead who will be entrepreneurial and driven.

Our clients have sites across Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the Purchasing & Commercial Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Purchasing and Inventory management and for leading and mentoring a small team. They will manage the purchasing of a large number of SKU’s and ensure stock availability for all sites bought at the best price to maximise company profitability.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Negotiate competitive pricing, delivery dates and rebates with Suppliers
  • Build strong relationships with Suppliers and ensure the flow of information on new products and product availability
  • Analyse and monitor purchasing trends to ensure stock is purchased and available for seasonal trends, promotions and Trade Shows
  • Monitor aged and obsolete stock
  • Conduct annual category reviews and introduce new product ranges
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Warehouse, Sales and Marketing to support marketing plans and product promotions
  • Ensure the Teams KPIs are met
  • Set ordering guidelines for the Purchasing Team and continually identify areas for process improvement

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

  • Proven Purchasing experience within a retail, wholesale, e-commerce or similar industry
  • Strong negotiation and Supplier Management skills
  • Experience of leading and building successful teams
  • Commercially astute
  • Comfortable building relationships with colleagues and Suppliers
  • KPI and target driven
  • Can work autonomously and juggle multiple projects

This is an on-site role and there will be travel to meet with Suppliers, Sites and attend Trade Shows.
