Job description

W Talent are delighted to be supporting a leading FMCG manufacturer in West Leeds in their search for a part-time Purchasing Assistant. This opportunity allows you to work closely with an experienced team, supporting operational buying and administrative tasks for high-volume products and substances.

Our client prides itself on being innovative and forward-thinking, with a modern and dynamic culture. This role is crucial to the success of their new and existing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries
  • Manage and update purchasing records, data, and pricing
  • Source and assess potential new suppliers
  • Report and escalate supplier quality issues
  • Provide pricing for new requirements to sales
  • Resolve supplier inquiries, discrepancies, and account issues
  • Liaise with internal teams to overcome supply chain challenges
  • Ensure compliance with relevant manufacturing regulations
  • Prepare management reports as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience in purchasing is highly desirable, whether in a purchasing administrator or buyer role
  • Experience managing supplier performance and ensuring the best price, service, and quality is a plus
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing is beneficial, but not essential
  • Comfortable with MRP systems and data analysis

This part-time role offers around 25 hours per week and is based on-site. This makes it ideal for someone in the local area who is looking for a later start and early finish while working for a fantastic business in which they can continue to progress their purchasing career.
