Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Onsite, Plymouth
Mission:
To provide operational level purchasing administration support to the Residential Controls Segment, including:
- Direct parts purchasing
- Indirect parts purchasing and management, including services and capital.
- Supplier management
Key responsibilities:
- Create and manage purchase orders.
- Support the procurement/planning team to ensure the timing and accurate supply of purchased parts within the plant.
- Assist and provide cover for the planning of manufacturing schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams.
- Provide and support specification changes to materials and components as driven by any department/function within the plant.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Provide operational support in the procurement and management of all indirect purchase areas including services and capital.
Skills and attributes:
- Proven experience in a purchasing role within a volume manufacturing plant.
- Good level of computer/ERP literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Firm understanding of cross-functional inter-dependencies (operations, finance, supply chain).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with others to achieve objectives.
Education
- Ideally working towards or CIPS qualified.
