Cyprofood is a North London based wholesaler that has been operating as a leading fresh produce wholesaler since 2007. In time we have expanded our category and product range. As a result of company growth, we are now seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant to head up our Purchasing Operation.
As a Purchasing Assistant at Cyprofood, you will oversee all aspects of the procurement process including developing and managing relationships with new suppliers, negotiating prices, forecasting demand and suggesting on going improvements to the process surrounding procurement.
You'll be accountable for:
- Forecasting levels of demand for services and products, to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedule and quality
- Liaising between Suppliers, Manufacturers and Project Managers
- Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process
- Building and maintaining good relationship with existing suppliers as well as researching and identifying new potential suppliers
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts, monitoring their progress and checking the quality of the service provided
- Negotiating prices and contracts
- Processing and checking invoices for payments
- Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives
- Attending meetings and developing an organization’s purchasing strategy
- Management and coordination of purchasing activities
The ideal candidate must have:
- Min 3 years food wholesaler supplier management experience
- Strong supply chain, planning related experience ideally within an FMCG
- Excellent working knowledge of ERP/MRP/procurement systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Highly organized and comfortable dealing with multiple tasks and demands on time, as well as being able to prioritize accordingly
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing, developing and mentoring staff to achieve their full potential.
