Job description

Purchasing Assistant required for a well-established manufacturer of specialist equipment for the food and pharmaceutical industries, who are based in the Godalming, Surrey area.

Due to ongoing success, they are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Purchasing Assistant to join the team at their office in Godalming.

Purchasing Assistant Job Overview
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with company requirements
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders to maintain adequate inventory
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery times
  • Track orders and follow up on delays or discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, supplier information, and pricing
  • Support the Purchasing Manager with sourcing alternative components when needed
  • Work closely with technical and production teams to understand material requirements
  • Assist with general administration duties within the purchasing department
Purchasing Assistant Job Requirements
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role
  • Familiarity with mechanical and/or electronic parts and components
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and SAGE purchasing/order systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
