Job description

Are you an experienced Purchaser looking for a new role?
JMC are currently working with a company who are looking to engage with Purchasers for a position based in Stansted.

Main responsibilities include:
  1. The day-to-day operation of the Purchasing function.
  2. Processing shipping documentation from carriers in relation to customs clearances for Inwards Processing purposes.
  3. Providing clearance information to the responsible courier/freight forwarder for all imports, within regulations of Customs and Excise.
  4. Purchasing a wide range of aircraft parts, materials, and related equipment in line with operational procedures and requirements and at the most competitive price.
  5. Timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of parts in line with operational requirements.
  6. Secure material delivery progress by chasing vendors and logistics providers to secure aircraft on-time delivery and ensuring that all communication around the movement of parts is followed up.
  7. Maintaining inventory levels within approved guidelines.
  8. Resolving and investigating supply chain errors and examining via root cause analysis.
  9. Creating and updating daily shortage reports and communicating reports to relevant internal customers.
  10. Continually improving purchasing methods in a bid to drive down external spend.
  11. Assisting in developing and implementing policies and procedures for Materials Purchasing and ensuring these are understood and adhered to.
  12. Identifying new suppliers including discount structures and volume rebates and improving payment terms.
  13. Ensuring the highest level of service is provided and maintained for both internal and external customers.

This role requires a candidate with demonstrable experience within an aviation purchasing environment.
