Job description

Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established business based in Castle Donington, who are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part-Time Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional seeking a flexible, part-time role in a friendly and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Processing and posting invoices (circa 400 per month) and matching them to purchase orders
  2. Managing and controlling supplier payment runs
  3. Reconciling supplier statements
  4. Handling purchase ledger queries efficiently
  5. Ensuring robust controls are in place for new supplier setups and invoice authorisation
  6. Managing supplier portals, ensuring invoices are downloaded and issued promptly
  7. Reviewing and resolving any credit or debit balance issues monthly
  8. Assisting the Finance Manager with tasks as required
  9. Supporting other finance functions such as credit control when necessary
Candidate requirements:
  1. Previous experience in a purchase ledger or similar finance role
  2. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  3. Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
  4. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
  5. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  6. A team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Benefits and hours:

  2. Salary up to £26,000 full time equivalent
