Job description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative individual to manage two key programmes of work: ‘Prevention and Early Years’ and the ‘Good Food and Movement’ programme across partner agencies, working as a Public Health Programme Manager.


This post is fixed term/secondment until 31st March 2026 due to funding. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.


This is a strategic role within the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Local Public Health Team working across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and reporting to its Executive Director for Public Health. The post holder will deliver effectively across a range of partner agencies using a programme management approach. The post holder will work across Public Services Boards (aligned to the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act), and through the Regional Partnership Board (aligned to the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act). You will contribute to managing programmes of work that improve the health of the population of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The post holder will support the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of partnership programmes and initiatives to promote health and well-being across all sectors.
