This role would offer the chance to support the high growth of the agency through establishment of an in-house public affairs, stakeholder engagement and advocacy practice within the consultancy. Our client is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial and ambitious person to join the executive team.
The role’s focus would be to establish, lead and grow the PA practice. There will be an element of ESG focus with this opportunity and therefore the candidate will be required to have prior experience within the sector in order to fully guide, counsel and establish an unrivalled public affairs team.
Key Responsibilities:
- As Public Affairs Practice Lead you must be prepared to work with senior colleagues to build and articulate the offer, and help launch the public affairs practice to the market.
- Upskilling and inspiring the existing team – once the practice is properly established this role would require exploring new public affairs hires to support continued growth for the team and agency as a whole.
- Help and guide the current agency team – many of whom already have a pre-existing passion for politics and focus on policy for certain clients, to develop into a highly functional and reputable outfit.
- Focus on the ESG sector and continue to build upon the current advisory practice for several corporate clients on ESG strategies.
Key Requirements:
- Substantial public affairs experience in an agency – minimum associate director level with a strong track record of winning and bringing in new business.
- Experience with environmental policy and regulation at a UK and global level as well as a history of working closely with government departments including BEIS.
- Entrepreneurial with drive and ambition to establish a leading public affairs practice.
- The ideal candidate would have experience of corporate affairs with strong stakeholders and other third parties/ NGOs operating in the environmental space as well as a range of alternate sectors.
- It would also be desirable to have contacts in a range of government departments.
