My client, an innovative FTSE 250 professional services company, is looking to add a Public Affairs Manager to its external communications team.
The role is on a six month FTC initially, to start asap. The genuine hope is this becomes a permanent position in due course, but that can't be guaranteed through the door.
This is a newly created role, on the back of significant growth in public affairs activity, and will be based in stunning central London offices (3 days in, 2 days out).
The team is looking for someone whose core expertise sits in public affairs and/or policy: comfortable with government relations, drafting consultations, managing high-profile ministerial events, engagement programmes, keeping up-to-date on policy areas that impact the business and driving forward its lobbying efforts.
This award-winning corporate affairs team is very much integrated; therefore, any additional comms and media experience would be welcomed, but isn't essential.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity as the company has an offering that spans a remarkable breadth of sector activity. Current focus areas include decarbonisation & net zero, safer communities/justice, technology and AI, employment rights and skills & apprenticeships. As such, the sky is the limit when it comes to policy areas/issues to get your teeth stuck into.
One vital ingredient that applies to all hires the business makes is a positive attitude. This is genuinely a business that rewards proactivity, and one where you can make a difference beyond the confines of external relations.
