An exciting position has arisen for a Public Affairs Manager to join a renowned charity, dedicated to delivering social services and humanitarian aid to vulnerable individuals. This is an interim position and will lead the charity’s UK-wide public affairs strategy, government engagement and digital campaigns.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead the charity’s UK-wide public affairs strategy, targeting key social issues to drive meaningful change in public awareness and policy.
- Serve as the primary contact for government engagement, building and strengthening relationships with key policymakers.
- Oversee impactful digital campaigns to elevate awareness and support.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams across advocacy, policy, and communications to design and implement cohesive public affairs initiatives.
- Oversee and manage reputational matters at both local and national levels, proactively safeguarding the charity’s image and credibility in response to emerging issues.
- Line manage two Public Affairs Officers, providing guidance and ensuring team goals align with the charity’s strategic public affairs objectives.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Established record of successfully influencing public policy and contributing to high-level public debates to drive meaningful change.
- Skilled in team management, with experience leading and supporting teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Strong communication abilities, adept at conveying complex information clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
Location: London
Contract: 4 months interim contract
Pay rate: £220 per day (PAYE inclusive of holiday pay)
Working hours: 35 hours per week
Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
