Location: London
Employment Basis: Permanent, Full-Time/Part-Time
Hourly Pay: £38
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology Lecturer to join our academic team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or someone looking to make a career in teaching. As a Psychology Lecturer, you will have the chance to inspire and support students, helping them develop a comprehensive understanding of psychological theories and practices while fostering their intellectual curiosity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Lesson Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging and stimulating lessons covering key psychological concepts, theories, and research methods.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress, providing timely, constructive feedback that supports their academic growth.
  • Student Support: Offer additional support to students, addressing individual learning needs and ensuring they have the resources to succeed in their studies.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Psychology curriculum, ensuring it remains current and relevant.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and ensure timely intervention when necessary to provide additional support for struggling learners.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Proven experience in teaching Psychology at the Further Education level or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of psychological theories, research methods, and contemporary issues in the field.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience teaching a diverse group of students, including those with varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Ability to incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance student learning.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with current trends in psychology and the ability to bring real-world applications into the classroom.
  • A student-focused approach, with a commitment to supporting learners' academic and personal development.
