Psychology Graduate - Learning Support Assistant

Are you a recent Psychology Graduate? Are you dreaming of a career as a Psychologist or Therapist, but need some experience behind you? Are you interested in neurodiversity and special needs?

A mainstream primary school in Bristol (BS11) is looking for an enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role offers a unique chance to support children with diverse needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, and communication difficulties - fantastic experience for a Psychology Graduate to kick start their career.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will learn about the cognitive, behavioural, and emotional needs of each student and how to best support them. You will help identify triggers and barriers to learning, as well as implement your knowledge of psychological theory in the classroom. Above all else, you will help ensure every student feels safe and supported in school and help make the classroom a fun and engaging space!

If you are a Psychology Graduate looking to gain experience working with vulnerable children, this is a great place to start. Not only will you gain invaluable first-hand experience in a specialist environment, but you will also have the opportunity to network with Psychologists and Therapists based at the school. This is also a great opportunity if you have considered a future in teaching or education.

The school is looking for a friendly and nurturing individual, with a positive attitude and a solid understanding of SEN. Any previous experience working with children is a bonus - this could be professional or personal experience.
