Job description

Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

Monarch Education is currently working in partnership with a 'Good' primary school in the M9 area of Manchester.

In line with the needs of this school, we are actively seeking to recruit Graduate Level Teaching / Support Assistants to work with pupils with behavioural difficulties or those who have become disengaged with the curriculum.

The school has expressed an interest in working with Psychology and Criminology Graduates to utilise their knowledge and skills to help minimise disruption and bring pupils back on track. The right candidates will be working in the classroom, supporting pupils who display low-level behavioural difficulties or who have become distracted from their learning. You will be working alongside these pupils as a strong role model, understanding their background and needs to help bring them back on track and minimise disruption in the classroom.

These pupils are often performing just slightly below national expected standards and require focused attention and additional support to bridge this attainment gap in the core subjects (Reading, Spelling & Grammar, Maths, and Phonics).

This is a wonderful opportunity for graduates of this calibre to embark on their career in Education. You will be classroom-based, but there will also be opportunities to further utilise your skills to lead after-school clubs or child psychology sessions. These are ideal roles for candidates who are looking to start a PGCE and wish to continue gaining experience in this sector.

These roles would be longer-term positions, with the potential for permanent or fixed-term contracts for candidates who impress!

Working for Monarch, you will:

  • Work with your designated consultant who will listen to your career goals and work alongside you to help you achieve them!
  • Work with consultants who have extensive experience as teachers themselves
  • Have access to CPD opportunities
  • Be fully supported throughout the duration of your placement
  • Benefit from a DBS refund scheme - a full refund of your DBS cost

If you would like to speak further about these opportunities, please apply or email your CV, and you will be contacted within 48 hours.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities for all candidates and adhering to strict safeguarding procedures. Your application will be subject to 2 references and an enhanced DBS check.
