PS195191 - Senior Charge Nurse

This is a rare and very exciting opportunity for an individual who has renal dialysis experience to take up the role of Senior Charge Nurse. NHS Grampian currently have 5 satellite dialysis units located in Stonehaven, Inverurie, Peterhead, Banff and Elgin. This post will involve operational responsibility and leadership for 2-3 of the satellite dialysis units with the others being supported by a second Senior Charge Nurse due to the geographical nature of this post.

The satellite dialysis units provide outpatient dialysis for patients across the NHS Grampian region. These patients range from being self-caring to highly dependent on the nursing team. Many of these patients have co-morbidities so management of their condition can be complex. This is a very exciting time to join the senior nursing team as we progress with home haemodialysis. All of the units are involved in shared care which supports patients to learn how to undertake dialysis independently so they can either dialyse in centre or at home with full autonomy over management of their health.

The successful post holder will require to work flexibly across the different sites. Strong leadership is essential to this role as is adaptability to the needs of each unit. The successful candidate should be change focused and able to empower the teams to progress with modern ways of managing renal failure. There will require to be close links and working with the other satellite units Senior Charge Nurse as well as the Senior Charge Nurse in Aberdeen’s unit.

This post is advertised for 37 hours, however part time hours and job share options are available and open for discussion.
