FAC Technology is a deep-tech company specialising in the research and development of advanced materials and cutting-edge prototypes. The company works in various industries including Aerospace, Defence, Space and Electric Vehicles.

FAC Technology is looking for a motivated and practical Workshop Technician to join our team and contribute to a hands-on, innovative workspace. The role will offer a variety of personal development and training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advanced composites manufacture, using various production techniques
  2. The operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of various workshop machines, including (but not limited to):
  3. 3-axis CNC mill (HAAS)
  4. 3-axis CNC router (Mantech Spartan 1325)
  5. Manual Metalwork Machinery (including turning)
  6. FDM & SLA 3D Printers
  7. Machining of metallic, polymer, and composite parts using the above equipment to drawing specifications
  8. Goods in and inventory management.
  9. Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean workshop environment.
  10. Support general assembly and finishing tasks.
  11. Adhering to ISO9001 quality standards or higher (AS9100) during all of the above

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of practical workshop experience
  2. Familiarity with machine operations including CNC machines.
  3. Knowledge of GD&T and familiarity with engineering drawings
  4. Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain safety and quality protocols.
  5. Qualifications may include a recognised apprenticeship / HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), and have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant accredited workplace OR a relevant engineering degree.
  6. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  7. Good organizational skills for managing tasks and keeping a tidy workspace.
  8. Team player with good communication skills.
  9. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
  10. Familiarity with 3D printing technology.
  11. Problem-solving attitude and a proactive approach to workshop duties.

The remuneration package will be dependent on experience but will likely be in the bracket £30,000 to £40,000.
