Job description

We are looking for an experienced Protein Buyer to take ownership of sourcing poultry and other proteins, ensuring the best commercial and product offering for our customers. This role is key to maintaining strong supplier relationships, implementing buying strategy, and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company's protein buying strategy, adapting to market changes and business needs.
• Negotiate prices, volumes, and specifications directly with suppliers.
• Work closely with the supply chain, planning, and operations teams to manage supplier performance.
• Provide market insights and data to internal teams and customers.
• Support customer tenders with accurate forward pricing.
• Identify risks in the supply chain and take proactive steps to ensure continuity.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in food purchasing, ideally within poultry or fresh meat.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in supplier management.
• Excellent analytical ability and understanding of product and material costings.
• Confident communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
