Introduction:

We are seeking a Proposals and Sales Support Engineer to join our Bulk Material Handling Product team. You will be responsible for creating unique and complex offerings to meet the needs of our customers. The offering could include engineering services, spare parts, upgrades, and retrofits. This position will focus on solutions for Metso's Bulk Material Handling (BMH) Electrical and Instrumentation product group. BMH product group is a part of the GBP products currently including Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro equipment. In this position, you will report to our Senior Manager, BMH E&I Proposals & Sales Support.

This position is mainly located in York, PA or Pittsburgh, PA and we are happy to offer hybrid working options.

Team you belong to:

Metso's BMH product group consists of a team of experts who provide a comprehensive range of engineering products and services, with core competency in material handling and conveying systems. Projects range from engineered service work through to full system retrofit equipment and greenfield equipment supply projects.

What you’ll do:

1. Review customer inquiries, identifying needs, requirements, comments, and exceptions.
2. Visit customers to understand their business and corresponding product needs; understand their decision process and key drivers.
3. Create proposals for complex upgrades, refurbishments, and retrofits to meet the Market Area (Sales) demands.
4. Define application specific equipment specifications.
5. Ensure proposal satisfaction by clearly communicating the Metso value add for our customers.
6. Ensure proposals are commercially viable and comprehensive while mitigating and managing Metso’s risk.
7. Develop standard commercial offerings for upgrades, retrofits, and refurbishment and deploy these to the MA teams for opportunity generation; leverage the installed base to develop the business.
8. Create effective RFQs and obtain proposals from third-party suppliers.
9. Ensure the hand over as-sold packages to the project management team.
10. Define supply needs to Procurement to support the opportunities.
11. Coordinate with other business lines within Metso to deliver a value add and sustainable proposal.
12. Work to ensure all related company intellectual property is controlled and protected.

Who you are:

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
2. Experience in engineering or related field.
3. Previous experience in generating product pricing, reviewing customer inquiries, or designing custom solutions is beneficial.
4. Previous experience in any of the GBP (Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro) product groups is beneficial.
5. Experience in utilizing Salesforce or any CRM system.
6. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, communications diagrams, technical documentation) in the English and Metric System.
7. Adequate computer skills, capable of working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
