Service Care Legal are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Property Lawyer to provide expert legal services in commercial property law on a fixed-term, maternity cover basis. This exciting opportunity allows you to work within a fast-paced and supportive team, delivering high-quality advice and support on a wide range of commercial property matters for local authorities.

ROLE: Property Solicitor
LOCATION: Central London
RATE: £35.00 to £37.00 per hour LTD (DOE and interview performance)
CONTRACT: 9 - 12 months (Maternity cover)

About the Role:

As a Commercial Property Lawyer, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing an existing caseload, ensuring compliance with local authority regulations, and contributing to high-profile property transactions. You will work closely with clients, providing clear, solution-focused legal guidance and drafting and reviewing legal implications, decision-making reports, leases, licenses, and other property-related documents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide specialist legal advice on commercial property transactions and matters within a local government context
2. Act as a trusted legal advisor to clients, ensuring clear, solution-focused legal guidance
3. Manage an existing caseload and take on new complex commercial property legal work
4. Collaborate with colleagues within the wider legal service, supporting cross-disciplinary cases
5. Ensure compliance with internal processes, including decision-making frameworks, instructions to external legal counsel, financial procedures, and case management system

Requirements:

1. Qualified Solicitor or qualified CiLEX Executive
2. Expertise in advising local authorities on commercial property matters
3. Proven experience in commercial property transactions and local authority decision-making processes
4. Ability to navigate a complex local government environment, working effectively within a multi-disciplinary legal team
