We have 4 Branch Offices in Europe to provide local insurance services to our Nordic clients and their subsidiaries in different countries. To our UK office, we are now looking for a Risk Engineer.

About the Role

In this crucial but exciting role, your primary focus will be on managing fire risks related to Property and Business Interruption insurance, along with some involvement in electrical and machinery risks across various industrial sectors. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments and client consultations based on British and International standards, as well as participating in Group development projects within the Risk Engineering field.

About the team

In this role, you will be able to plan and organize your work independently and in close cooperation with your local and Nordic/European colleagues. You will be part of our global Risk Management unit consisting of more than 50 engineers, which is the largest unit in the Nordic Insurance Market. You will be part of the UK team but be working in a truly international environment.

Who are you?

You have strong proficiency in hazard identification and risk assessment skills, with an emphasis in any of the fields - Electrical, Machinery, and/or Chemical industry hazards, as well as large real estate risks. Understanding and knowledge of corporate risk management needs, sprinkler standards, and other loss prevention standards is a merit, as well as good understanding and experience in working with international insurance programs. You work independently and proactively and have great analytical skills to use when conducting risk assessments and client consultations.

In addition, you:

  1. Have a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering or related field, although relevant industry experience would also be considered as a suitable alternative
  2. Are fluent in English
  3. Have 5+ years of working experience

Additional facts and recruitment process:

Location: Our office in London and home-based. However, having your home office as a base is also a possibility.
