Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Overview

Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a hands-on role in a dynamic apartment community? Join our team as an Skilled Maintenance Technician, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our property remains in excellent condition. This position requires a mix of technical maintenance expertise and strong customer service skills. From diagnosing issues and completing repairs to organizing work orders and maintaining the property, we seek a dedicated individual who can work independently while collaborating with the property management team.

Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Conduct routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs
  2. Perform plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks and unclogging drains
  3. Carry out electrical repairs, such as replacing light fixtures and troubleshooting wiring issues
  4. Maintain and repair HVAC systems as needed
  5. Repair and paint walls, ceilings, and doors to maintain unit and property aesthetics
  6. Install, repair, and maintain household appliances
  7. Handle carpentry tasks, including repairing/installing floors, doors, and cabinets
  8. Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs
  9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  10. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
  11. Collaborate with property management and team members to schedule maintenance work
  12. Oversee and coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs
  13. Maintain landscaping and grounds as required
  14. Provide excellent customer service to residents by addressing maintenance concerns in a professional and timely manner
  15. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies

Qualifications & Skills

  1. Previous experience in maintenance or a related field required
  2. Certification in HVAC (universal with a minimum of 3 years hands on experience), plumbing, electrical
  3. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team
  6. Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  7. Experience using property management software is a plus
  8. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor tasks
  9. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  10. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  11. Proficiency with hand and power tools
  12. Strong organizational and time management skills
  13. Customer service experience in a residential setting is a plus
  14. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals
  15. Willingness to be on-call for emergencies
