Our Quality Control department is currently recruiting for a Proofreader to join their team, based in our Birmingham office at Fort Dunlop. Ensuring the accuracy of all marketing assets, produced for a raft of prestigious clients, you’ll need an exceptional eye for detail, an analytical mind and a better-than-average knowledge of English grammar.
This role is for a general Quality Control executive. Day shifts are either 8am–4.30pm, 9am–5.30 or 10am-6.30pm depending on the requirement of the studio and assigned at least a week in advance (this includes a one-hour lunch break). Day shifts are a hybrid pattern of two days at home and three days in our Birmingham office per week. We also recently introduced an evening shift of 3pm–11pm (with a half-hour break) to ensure wider cover for our rapidly growing department, with some members of staff rotating between day and night shift on a rotational basis week-to-week. The night shift can be worked fully remotely. If this is of interest, please mention it to our recruiter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gaining an understanding of the brand guidelines of multiple clients to ensure absolute compliance and consistency of all assets
- Checking and proofreading a broad range of artwork and digital executions to ensure accuracy for pre-qualified briefs
- Sub-editing and proofreading copy for spelling, grammar, internal logic and compliance to corporate identity
- Proofreading and double-checking work alongside the other members of the team
Requirements
- Proofreading/quality control experience in a professional environment
- Experience of meeting frequent tight deadlines
- Exceptional spelling and grammar skills
- A methodical, analytical mind and meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to work in a high-pressure, collaborative environment
- The ability to manage your own time effectively
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of Apple OS, Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software
- Some knowledge of technical print specifics, i.e. Bleed and crop marks, colour breakdowns, font usage and image resolutions
