About the Role & Team

As a key member of the Commercial North team and reporting into the Commercial Manager, your primary responsibility will be commercial lead on a project located in Brook Green.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing tenders and detailed scopes of works for project.
  2. Procurement of all contractor trade packages.
  3. Managing contractor accounts to include raising contractor payments, reviewing and assessing variation claims and preparing and settling final accounts.
  4. Reviewing drawing changes.
  5. Reviewing and approving Site Instructions & CCF's where appropriate.
  6. Producing valuation reports to advise of any cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
  7. Implementation of commercial function in line with the Commercial Policies & Procedures Manual.
  8. Attend design team meetings.
  9. Carry out detailed package review meetings & drive value engineering opportunities of design & scope information.
  10. Prepare all contract documentation and ensure accuracy.
  11. Financial accountability for the project budget.
  12. Partnership & co-operation with the Project Team for operational and financial delivery.
  13. Management of and delegation of work to Junior Members of Site Commercial Team where applicable.

Key Skills & Experience:

  1. Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team.
  2. Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate daily with the relevant members of the Technical, Sales, Construction, Buying and Finance teams.
  3. Very good commercial acumen.
  4. Good Interpersonal skills.
  5. Very good negotiation skills.
  6. Good construction knowledge.
