Job Title: Project Support Officer
Team: Growth, Investment & Sustainability
Salary: £27,687 to £29,669 per annum
Hours: 35 Hours per Week
Location: County Hall, Spetchley Road, Worcester, Worcestershire, WR5 2NP
Type: Permanent

The Role:
Worcestershire County Council’s Growth and Investment Team runs a number of projects to support businesses and organisations to start, innovate, grow, expand and reduce environmental impact to contribute to a thriving low carbon economy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Worcestershire County Council’s Growth, Investment & Sustainability Team. We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer to support the delivery of Net Zero support in Worcestershire and The Marches, in affiliation with the West Midlands Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS), funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. The project offers free energy assessments to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to provide recommendations for energy reduction, helping to reduce costs as well as grant funding for commercial and industrial SMEs to implement energy efficiency measures.

If you have experience of proactively monitoring and administering projects and tracking progress, effective organisational skills and an appreciation of environmental and sustainability issues relating to businesses, this could be the job for you.

We are looking for dynamic individuals with excellent numeracy communication skills and a high level of attention to detail, who are able to use their own initiative but also be excellent team players.

You will assist the Project Manager in the operational delivery of support and grant funding. The varied work will include tasks such as day-to-day communication with businesses, organisations and project partners, administering grants, working closely with service providers, supporting event delivery and programme marketing, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

As part of a supportive team, you will work alongside colleagues within the County Council delivering information, business support projects and grant funding as part of the wider growth, investment and sustainability offer. The post is funded until 31st March 2026.
