The Client
Our client is a highly respected national full building envelope contractor, looking to add an experienced Project Planner to their team.
The Role of Project Planner
This role requires individuals with aspirations to develop and enhance their career in planning, programming, and project management, working on all aspects of initial planning, phasing, coordination, and sequencing for our clients' project tender programmes.
A driven individual with a can-do attitude will use their experience, enthusiasm, and skills to help the department drive efficiency and performance.
- Working with the tender, pre-construction, and delivery teams on a range of opportunities and live projects by collaboratively developing and maintaining robust detailed project plans.
- Preparing project-specific programmes for inclusion within the Tender submission.
- Establishing optimal construction methodologies, logic sequences, and working outputs by producing programmes for review and preparing logistics proposals.
- Proactively ensuring that planning standards are maintained across all projects and that planning and control procedures are adhered to.
- Assisting the Operations teams with tracking changes and progress on live projects, taking into account delays, site progression, and commercial impact.
- Visiting sites, attending progress meetings, monitoring progress, and assisting in updating short-term plans and construction programmes.
- Learning to communicate and quantify the effects of progress on key dates.
- Promoting a partnership ethos within the Pre-Construction department of Estimating and Planning, as well as Operations teams, by developing and maintaining close working relationships both internally and with external clients' teams.
To Succeed, the Project Planner will need:
- Knowledge/Experience of project planning systems and software such as Microsoft Project (desirable) and Asta Powerproject.
- Experience within the construction industry or a related industry (preferable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good standard of general IT literacy; proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
- Good basic standard of general literacy and numeracy.
- Able to communicate with team members and departments to relay or gather information and assist with preparing reports and updating information on site.
