Our long-standing offshore energy projects client is seeking an experienced Project Operations Manager to join their global projects team.

This is an opportunity to support our client on live projects and tenders worldwide. You will play a key part in growing the project ops team. Offshore project background is essential for this role.

Negotiable salary + flexible benefits scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the work onshore and offshore, ensuring adequate preparation and anticipation for upcoming activities with special focus on vessels' port calls and offshore operations.
  • Ensure that all aspects of Group & Project processes and procedures regarding Security, Safety, Health & Quality are implemented on each of the worksites under your responsibility.
  • Be responsible for the readiness process of onshore and offshore operations, including timely approval to proceed.
  • Build and administer the offshore schedule with the support of junior operations engineers or planners. Define the overall logic for the offshore schedule based on constraints and project milestones, identify the critical path, and manage floats and contingencies.
  • Track vessel performance during execution to identify negative trends and areas of improvement during port calls and offshore, keeping the offshore as-built schedule up to date.
  • Select the spread for offshore operations, including company construction vessels and third-party chartered vessels.
  • Define the scope of work (SOW) for each vessel and liaise closely with operational personnel and Vessel Operations Managers (VOMs).
  • Plan and manage onshore operations personnel in-country and out of country.
  • Be responsible for marine spread assurance, including relevant surveys and audits, ensuring project equipment and crew readiness.
  • Liaise with SCM Chartering Manager to ensure scopes for third-party vessels are appropriate and functional requirements are included in agreements.
  • Support installation engineers with vessel changes and sequence changes.
  • Support Engineering in identifying tasks and providing constraints between them.
  • Review time estimates provided by the Installation Engineering team and field engineers.
  • Liaise with Installation Engineers and Pipeline Group (PG) to oversee the development of installation procedures.
  • Define SOW for Subcontractors/Vessel Owners and ensure requirements are cascaded into agreements.
  • Prepare the SIMOPS plan in conjunction with other stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • Experience in sub-sea construction is required.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Project and building offshore schedules.
  • Experience in offshore operations, having worked on installation vessels as deputy operations manager or project operations manager.
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple interfaces across functions.
  • Excellent work ethic, “go-get-it” attitude, willing to work in changeable environments to meet tight deadlines while delivering quality outcomes.
  • Mobility to travel internationally for short business trips or as an expat; extensive international experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
