Senior Project Manager - Thames Water Contracts

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to join our clients team and lead a capital delivery project near Banbury, OX17, where our client will act as the Principal Contractor. This is an exciting and valuable venture for the client, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a significant project with the support of the Contract Manager and internal stakeholders.

During the construction phase, frequent site visits will be required. While flexible remote working is available, attendance at their Midsomer Norton HQ will also be expected regularly.

This position is ideal for an experienced Project Manager looking to progress into a senior leadership role within a dynamic, open, and forward-thinking team that is committed to delivering excellence.

Role Overview

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will lead resource coordination, timeline management, and risk mitigation to achieve exceptional project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Contract Management: Oversee contractual obligations and ensure successful project execution.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage staff and subcontractors assigned to projects.
  3. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the safety of all personnel under your supervision and complete Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
  4. Project Documentation: Develop and maintain project documentation, reporting progress within a structured monthly framework.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth project progression.
  6. Environmental Responsibility: Implement proactive measures to mitigate environmental impact.

Requirements

Essential:

  1. Experience in civil, industrial M&E, or MEICA project management.
  2. Strong knowledge of project planning, monitoring, and control techniques.
  3. Familiarity with planning software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  4. In-depth understanding of health & safety legislation and company procedures.
  5. SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  6. Full UK driving license.
  7. Experience working with the NEC suite of contracts.

Desirable:

  1. City & Guilds trade qualification (or equivalent, where applicable).
