Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression. Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Project Manager for Small Works to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation. We are looking for a Small Works Project Manager who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Project Manager for Small Works, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services. The Small Works Project Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  2. Prepare and issue key project documentation, such as Project Briefs and Project Planning Documents.
  3. Plan and participate in the review process to ensure governance.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential issues.
  5. Lead and manage suppliers to deliver project outcomes according to the project plan.
  6. Monitor progress and performance, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
  7. Conduct regular site meetings and progress reviews with suppliers and the customer.
  8. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and expenditures.
  9. Assist in the preparation of final accounts and reconciliation processes.
  10. Report on financial performance to senior management, identifying any variances and taking corrective actions as needed.

To be successful for this Project Manager Small Works role you must have:

  1. Experience in a project management or coordination role, with a focus on projects with varying levels of risk, cost, time, and CDM complexity holding a recognised project qualification.
  2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  5. Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience in ensuring compliance with health and safety standards holding SMSTS.
  6. Formal project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation) are desirable but not essential.
