Project Manager Relocated Facilities

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to work on the Sizewell C project. This role will involve the management of relocated facilities on site.
The role will be based in Leiston and have hybrid working options.

This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

The project manager roles will include a variety of roles including the aspects below and may include a combination of the aspects below.

Aspects of Delivery Include

1. Road and Rail Facilities
2. Power and Communications Systems
3. Water Systems for storm, potable, desalination, industrial, and foul network and treatment
4. Buildings and Industrial Facilities including offices, welfare, security and other operational facilities
5. Security Fencing and Access Control

Principal Accountabilities

1. Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
2. Assist in securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
3. Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed.
4. Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
5. Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
6. Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract or package.
7. Ensure level 3 schedules are developed and maintained for the contract or package of work.
8. Review Contractor supplied Level 3 and 16 week rolling schedules.
9. Ensure the List of Deliverables (LOD) relating to the scope of work is delivered.
10. Apply the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM).
11. Apply the principles of Continuous Improvement.
12. Ensure that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
13. Interface with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practice.
14. Ensure that contract or package contractual requirements are fulfilled.
15. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

1. Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
2. Demonstrate success in managing / developing:
1. Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery,
2. Multi-discipline EPCM projects,
3. Procurement and management of complex contracts,
4. Control of costs risk schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools,
5. Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.
3. Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.
4. Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
5. Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.
6. Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
7. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
8. Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

1. Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics or other related field.
2. Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
3. Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either APM body of knowledge and OGCs Prince 2.

Desirable

1. Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
2. Understand how to apply a graded approach to quality.

This role falls inside IR35. It will run through the end of December 2025 but likely to be extended.
